MAHEDI ANJUMAN is on a journey to find her true artistic self through a contemporary avant-garde way. Currently she is living in Reno, NV and is studying in the Master of Fine Arts at the University of Nevada, Reno. She was born in Bangladesh, the land of the mystics. While the school taught her contemporary art forms, nature taught her mysticism.
After completing the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing and Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka in 2010, Anjuman was selected to participate in an art event OGCJM2012 (Only God Can Judge Me). In 2012, her artwork was selected to represent Bangladeshi contemporary art in an International Contemporary Sculpture and Installation Exhibition OPEN 15 in Venice, Italy with artist Yoko Ono. Anjuman explored and researched on original artworks of renown-artists in contemporary art museums in Italy, France, Germany and the United States. In 2013 and 2018, Anjuman participated artist residency with the Transart Institute and Picture Berlin in Germany. Her work was selected to exhibit in Connessioni Interpersonali, Ospizio Giovani Artist in Rome, Italy.
She is very involved in the contemporary conceptual art and experimenting art mediums. She has been inspired by Joseph Beuys’ statement, ‘everything is art, and everybody is an artist’. She is curious about existentialism and being’s psychological impact of action-reaction.
